Gallery show

What I gained from having my art in a gallery show is having people come in and judge my art and hear what they think about it. Hearing what other people think about my art helps me become a better artist and improve my art. My advice for the nest year students are that try you’re best from the beginning. When I first started this class I didn’t know how much I would love it in the end, and I wish that I would have tried harder and done my best in the beginning. I really liked submitting my art into the competitions and college bored. Winning my first art award really made me want to try harder. I learned that I really like working with people and abstract body, I also like layering it get a very broken look in my pictures. In my future life I would like to be continuing with art and this class has really shown me what I like to do and what I’m good at.

This week I layered more images with girl’s faces and broken mirrors. The first and last image is the same, but i tired a little bit of different lighting idea's. The broken mirror represents the brokenness of how women look at them self’s. Over spring break I’m going to start focusing on the body instead of the face, layering body image with broken glass to give it the dark and broken effect.

This week I layered some portrait pictures of women and some pictures of broken glass. This was to how women’s image of them self’s is so broken and distorted.

For this picture I was trying to show women’s will, that they will give up anything, even food to be what other people want them to be.

This week I decided to go more in depth with women image of them self in mirrors, and reflective things such as bodies of water.  Also I’ve been looking up tutorials on more things do to with image in broken glass and abstract angles in mirrors.  I looked up tutorials on how to add ripples to pictures of reflections in bodies of water. I found an awesome tutorial for Photoshop on how to add the ripples to the pictures.  I found another tutorial on water reflection, which is listed below.

This weekend I took pictures of my friend about the outside things women struggle with, such as weight and appreance. I also did a little bit on how women give up things in order to look "right" in everyone else"s eyes.
